terminal cancer

Brother Shane Sager, a man who lived across the street from me died from cancer Friday night.
He has 3 boys. And he was only 35 years old.

It makes you realize how precious life is.
In a instant everything can change.

In the blink of an eye high school will be over.
And I will be on to college.
And I will be getting married, and having my own family.

I don't want to look back on my life and realized I wasted time doing nothing.

Shane posted on his blog that his cancer was a real eye opener for him.
That he realized that he shouldn't take life for granted.
He said he wished he could have realized that before he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

I have decided that I will not be wasting anymore time.
I will not sit for idle minutes on facebook.
Or stare at the tv for hours on end.

I will work harder to improve myself.
Instead of sitting on the couch, I will practice soccer.
Or piano.

Instead of being on facebook for hours, I will read.
Or play with my siblings.

I will spend more time with family. I will have fun with my friends. I will do my best always.

I realize how important life is.

Thank you, Shane, for teaching me that before you died.

just breathe.
